Brutal Truth Give a Grindcore Lesson on ‘Addicted’ — Song Premiere
Brutal Truth are not only one of the longest-standing grindcore groups around today, they are also one of the most respected. Formed by ex-Anthrax, Nuclear Assault and S.O.D. bassist Dan Lilker in 1990, the quartet has released five studio albums of thought-provoking lyrics, ferocious riffing and some of the most abrasive vocals you'll hear anywhere in the extreme music community.
Two years after their arresting 'Evolution Through Revolution' album, Brutal Truth are returning with 'End Time,' their latest slab of high-quality grind destruction. Recorded by Doug White at Watchman Studios in Lockport, NY, mixed by Jason P.C. at Goatsound Studios, and mastered by Scott Hull at Visceral Sound, the 23-track album won't hit stores till September, but Noisecreep has connections. We're proud to unleash the world premiere of 'Addicted,' one of the tracks from the forthcoming record.
Listen to 'Addicted' from Brutal Truth
When Noisecreep asked for an explanation of the lyrics in 'Addicted,' Brutal Truth vocalist Kevin Sharp emailed us the following response while he was at an airport waiting to board a plane to go on tour:
"Addiction is senseless yet a part of culture... Meth ice invaded Atlanta and took a few friends... But more or less the song is about our cultural addiction for the end... We may pretend to give a s--- ...but in all actuality we've become selfish s---tbags who deserve annihilation ... It's the only thing we are really good at..."
How's that for blunt?
Brutal Truth's 'End Time' will be out on September 27th via Relapse Records. Pre-order the album today!
