Georgia's Becoming the Archetype are forward-thinkers. Literally. They've already lined up a July tour with Before There Was Rosalyn. The band will also play the annual Christian music festival Cornerstone for the ninth year in a row, if you count the three years that the Remnant, which eventually morphed into Becoming the Archetype, played the fest, too.

"I'm really looking forward to getting back to a couple states we haven't been to in a while," guitarist/keyboardist/comedian-in-training Seth Hecox told Noisecreep about the band's upcoming sojourn. "Texas and Minnesota will finally feel some love from the BTA camp. I know an entire year is a long time to go without BTA. But it's OK, because we'll be back in the summer!"

While the fans will get to enjoy some cage-rattlin' music on the tour, Hecox himself, who was awarded the illustrious Keyboardist of the Year title from HM Magazine -- and who likes to indulge in quite a bit of humor in his interviews -- is excited about pursuits that are a little more philosophical and a bit hairier.

"I'm looking forward to comparing the dreads of Carlos, Before There Was Rosalyn's vocalist, and our drummer Duck's dreads. And really, what every band loves to tour with is another band with cool dudes, and that's what BTWR is. I know everyone keeps saying that Becoming the Archetype is way more talented, handsome, cool, intelligent, neat and humorous than every other band, but it's only partially true. BTWR are also decent at those things, and if you're not satisfied by decent, you're standards are way too high. Yeah, those guys are gonna kill me now!"

Before rolling out on the road, Hecox revealed what he stuffs into his tour knapsack, saying, "I always take my cape with me. It's part of the Count Seth persona, which I maintain at all costs other than convenience. So I basically never maintain the persona except by keeping the cape, widow's peak and fangs." Mwah-ha-ha-ha-ha. He also totes whatever Stephen King novel he's reading at the time.

The humorously sarcastic Hecox, who could always transition to stand up comedy if BTA breaks up, also said, "I bring my collections of coffins. In case you die, you really want eight to 10 good options to be buried in. Am I right or am I right?" He does have a point there, albeit a morbid one.
