Solid State metal guys Becoming the Archetype are set to enter the studio in October to record their as yet-untitled fourth album. In the producers' chair is Matt Goldman, best known for his work with Archetypes' labelmates Underoath and As Cities Burn. Guitarist Seth Hecox talked to Noisecreep about their upcoming collaboration with Goldman, saying, "Becoming the Archetype has chosen to record with Matt Goldman because of his particular talent with synthesizers, programming beats and ability to think outside the box."

Continuing on their experimental streak, Becoming the Archetype are planning to employ instruments heretofore underemployed in metal bands' recordings. "We are already recruiting an army of volunteers to record un-rock instruments on the album," Hecox, an advocate for states deciding on health care, said. "We have people ready to record trumpet, trombone, tuba, clarinet, mandolin, Didgeridoo, sitar, Kurai, ukulele, sax, flute, cello, violin and all sorts of other instruments. We'd love to have your input!"

Those reading who might be interested in contributing their "un-rock" talent to the new Becoming the Archetype album can email the band at cliftonrules@gmail.com with your name and skill.

Before entering the studio, Becoming the Archetype will play a series of shows in South Africa. Their last album, 'Dichotomy', debuted at number 18 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart.
