Rising from the Los Angeles area underground music scene of the early '90s, Strife has gone on to become one of the most influential metallic hardcore bands in history. The group's debut album, 1994's One Truth, garnered both critical praise and sold a healthy amount of units for their then label, Victory Records.

Strife's 1997 sophomore album, In This Defiance, was another success for the band and featured guest appearances from Chino Moreno (Deftones), Dino Cazares (Fear Factory) and Iggor Cavalera (Cavalera Conspiracy, ex-Sepultura). After breaking up in 1999, Strife got back together in 2001 and released Angermeans, their third studio album.

After 11 years away, Strife are back in fight mode for their long-awaited fourth album. Fittingly titled Witness a Rebirth, the band brought in Terror drummer Nick Jett to handle the production duties and Matt Hyde (Slayer, Monster Magnet) to master the record. For the drum tracks, Strife invited their old friend Igor Cavalera to track the drums in his native Brazil. Witness a Rebirth also features guest performances from Scott Vogel (Terror), Billy Graziadei (Biohazard) and Marc Rizzo (Soulfly).
