Earlier this year, Century Media Records announced the launch of a new sub-label called ANGR, a.k.a. Ain't No Grave Recordings. In the label's words, the imprint is "dedicated to working alongside the most engaging spirit-filled bands from deep within the heavy music underground whose ambitions reach beyond simple scenes -- a collection of individuals with diverse approaches and points of view but a shared overall vision."

One of the first acts signed to ANGR is Hendersonville, TN progressive death metal outfit As Hell Retreats. With a popular debut platter under their belts -- 2010's 'Revival' -- the band will be releasing 'Volition' on ANGR. Produced by Brian Hood (MyChildrenMyBride), the record will hit stores on July 26th. Noisecreep is psyched to have the exclusive premiere of 'Young Heretic,' a song from the new album.

"Like the rest of our album, 'Young Heretic' was inspired by our life experiences," said As Hell Retreats vocalist Jackson Greene in a recent conversation with Noisecreep. "It's about growing up in a household where you've been told all your life to believe in something, but you've never fully understood why you believed it.

Some guys in this band and a few of our friends have been through that sort of lifestyle. We've had many conversations about our moments of questioning or being fearful of what peers would think if we doubted our faith, and that's what we based the song on."

Noisecreep asked Greene how the band hooked up with the folks at ANGR. "Ryan Downey and Ryan "Dog" Nelson started up the label and it opened up a huge opportunity for us," said Greene. "Since we already had a good relationship with them, we figured it would be sweet to work with them on another level. We're really excited right now!"

As Hell Retreats will be out this summer on the Scream the Prayer tour.
