So, Time magazine has come up with its list of the "10 greatest electric guitar players." Somehow Joe Satriani, Tom Morello and Eddie Van Halen didn't make the cut. So who did? Jimi Hendrix tops the list, Slash follows at #2 and Jimmy Page takes the #6 spot. Les Paul is at #8, with Yngwie Malmsteen at #9. Prince rounds things out at #10.
Mötley Crüe's Vince Neil says he thinks Axl Rose let fans of Guns N' Roses down in a new interview. "For ['Chinese Democracy'] to fail was pretty crazy after so many years of being recorded. Then the tour got canceled," Neil says. "A buddy of mine went to go play guitar for him. They rehearsed for three months and Axl never once turned up. Rule number one: show up! He's been doing that for many years. Finally, I think the fans just went, 'F--- it -- can't do this anymore.' You can't be a fan when you can't see the band."
Kiss bassist Gene Simmons is going Hollywood. According to his site, Gene "was proud to have been asked to come in and do the 'howling' voice for Universal's 'The Wolfman,' starring Benicio Del Toro and Anthony Hopkins. What I saw looked terrific. The movie is having some special effects added." He was also asked to do the voice of the Dragon Spirit in M. Night Shyamalan's forthcoming "Airbender" movie.

Studio footage from the recording sessions for Them Crooked Vultures' upcoming debut LP has been posted online. The rock 'n' roll supergroup, comprised of Foo Fighters drummer Dave Grohl, Queens of the Stone Age's Josh Homme and Led Zeppelin bassist John Paul Jones, released the video yesterday. And for fans eager to hear the band's material, it includes audio of a song called 'Nobody Loves Me and Neither Do I.'
The cover art for Gorgoroth's ninth studio set, 'Quantos Possunt Ad Satanitatem Trahunt,' has been revealed. The disc drops Nov. 11, and features 10 songs, including 'Building A Man,' 'Cleansing Fire' and Satan-Prometheus.'
The Sword are nearly done writing material for their next album, which the band says will be a concept album centered around an "original science fiction narrative." The band hopes to begin recording the effort this fall, will a spring release being eyed.
