Incubus frontman Brandon Boyd has a new partner in his musical pursuits while his band is taking a break. The frontman has paired up with go-to rock producer Brendan O'Brien for the new project Sons of the Sea. The lyric video for the lead track 'Come Together' recently arrived (as seen below) and now Boyd is offering his commentary on the track in Noisecreep's new exclusive video clip seen above.

Boyd, who has worked with O'Brien on Incubus records in the past, took that relationship further as he penned lyrics and sang while O'Brien performed most of the music. The singer says, "[We were] two artists who had worked together before, but now in a completely different context. Every song we worked on was different from the next one. It was a process of continual discovery."

Speaking of discovery, Boyd talks about his cohort being caught off guard a little bit with the subject of 'Come Together.' "Brendan O'Brien was like, 'Can we do more songs like this? What's it about?' I'm like, 'It's about sex, it's about sex,'" laughs the singer. The frontman goes on to also share a specific film reference from his youth that he used as a muse for the song. Any guesses? Watch the clip above to find out.

As for the song itself, it's a bouncy cut with and infectious ebb and flow. 'Come Together' can be found on the 'Sons of the Sea' album, which is due out Sept. 24. It is currently available for pre-order via Amazon in both CD and LP formats. The latter comes in 180-gram vinyl with a digital download card. Stay tuned for more from Sons of the Sea coming this fall.
