Slowly but surely, Ozzy Osbourne and wife Sharon are chipping away at their mammoth tax debt. As Perez Hilton reports, the Prince of Darkness and his bride have forked over the $718,948.25 they owed for 2008, taking them one step closer to being even-steven with the U.S. government.

The couple still owes a combined $1,381,245.65 for 2007 and 2008, according to Perez, but Sharon has said that she's making efforts to stay "on top" of such financial troubles, Contact Music reports.

If Ozzy needs extra revenue, he might soon get a boost from new Black Sabbath recordings. In a recent interview with the NME, the legendary singer revealed that the newly reunited metal legends have written 15 songs since getting back together.

"Next year -- 2013 -- is a good clue of what we'll call the album," Ozzy said.
