Get ready for an onslaught of gore and guts as Aborted are set to commence the recording of their seventh full-length album, 'Global Flatline.' These Belgian death metal vets plan to record 15 tracks of blood-soaked death metal. The standard version of 'Global Flatline' will boast 12 tracks, while the deluxe edition will add three extra tracks.

For two of the new album's bonus tracks, Aborted plan to celebrate the 10th anniversary of 'Engineering the Dead' by re-recording two songs from that album. The band is calling upon its fans to vote for their favorite cuts from 'Engineering the Dead' via the Aborted Facebook page.

Vocalist Sven de Caluwé said that 'Global Flatline' is one of the most important records of the band's career. "We really took our time in composing the most heavy and uncompromising material the band has written to date," the singer said. "Some of the material is faster than ever, some of the material is slower than ever, some old school and some new school, inspired by all eras of Aborted, yet still sounding unique on its own. Writing this record definitely took us back to the roots of why we started playing this kind of music in the first place: the passion and adrenaline you get from playing extreme metal."
