The Red Chord Lose Drummer, Recruits Original Kitman
Boston metallers the Red Chord have lost drummer Brad Fickeisen. However, the departure won't impact the band's forthcoming touring plans, as original Red Chord kitman Michael Justian has returned to the fold. Justian has not publicly appeared with the group since 2004's Maryland Deathfest, and he's since spent time in Unearth, Trap Them, Earth Crisis, Shai Hulud and 108.
"It's great to be jamming with Mike again," says guitarist Mike McKenzie. "His approach to drumming is truly unique and amazing. Even though it has been about six years since he has played this stuff, his playing is stronger than ever. We've rehearsed almost every day for the last month, and we can't wait to do this live again."
Justian's live return will come on Feb. 10 at the Hideaway in Johnson City, Tenn. Afterwards, the Red Chord will team with MyChildren MyBride, Chelsea Grin and Those Who Lie Beneath for the Burgers and Bowling Tour.
The Red Chord wished Fickeisen all the best in the future, and say they're looking forward to their tour, which kicks off Feb. 11 in Douglasville, Ga. and runs through March 14 in Holyoke, Mass.
'Fed Through the Teeth Machine,' the Red Chord's latest album, was released on Oct. 27 and was mixed and mastered by Chris 'Zeuss' Harris.
