It has been a week of ups and downs for Protest the Hero. They scored a Juno award, but also have announced that bassist Arif Mirabdolbaghi is stepping away from the band. His departure comes less than a year after drummer Moe Carlson left PTH.

Canadian progressive metallers Protest the Hero will soon invade North America for a run of 2014 tour dates. A strong roster of supporting acts have been announced, including Battlecross, the Safety Fire, Intervals, Night Verses + Motorleague.

Thanks to Protest the Hero's successful Indiegogo campaign, the group have been able to finish up 'Volition,' their fourth studio album, as well as team up with Razor & Tie to develop top notch collectibles for fans who pre-order the new disc.

Canadian rockers Protest the Hero will kick off a North American tour with Architects, the Kindred and Affiance beginning Nov. 7. That's shortly after the release of their upcoming fourth album 'Volition.'

Bands are exploring new avenues to distribute and help finance their albums, and Protest the Hero are among the acts leading the charge with their successful Indiegogo campaign. Thanks to their crowd funding efforts, the group will release an exclusive album to their funders as well as standard version this fall.

Drummer Moe Carlson has left Canadian neo-progsters Protest the Hero, but there's no drama here. He's merely exiting to focus on his education. In the interim, PTH drafted Lamb of God skinsman Chris Adler to record the drums for their new album, which they are crowdfunding via Indiegogo. Adler has already recorded his parts for the album, all with Carlson's blessing.

Our favorite Canadian prog-metallers Protest the Hero will return to the US for a three-week headlining tour, which will run from Nov. 28 through Dec. 22. So the band will be going right up until the holidays. What a good way to pass the time, right...
