HIM, Cradle of Filth Working on New Albums
Somewhere, Bam Margera is smiling.
Over the weekend, Paul Allender, guitarist for Bam's favorite band Cradle of Filth, revealed that the British extreme metallers were hard at work on new material. What's more, Bam's other favorite band, HIM, announced they'd have a new one in stores on Feb. 9.
The Finnish goth rockers will release 'Screamworks: Love In Theory and Practice' in 2010. They recently finished tracking in Los Angeles with producer Matt Squire. The disc will contain 13 tracks, including 'Disarm Me (With Your Loneliness),' 'Acoustic Funeral (For Love in Limbo)' and 'The Foreboding Sense of Impending Happiness.'
Frontman Ville Valo said in a recent interview that the forthcoming CD is "the most sexual, the most horny one, we've ever made. The horny and the horned. It's not about being poetic or forlorn about something that is about to happen, it's actually about something that is happening at this very moment in time."
Meanwhile, Allender says the Cradle record is "about half way" written, "and it's turning out just the way I wanted it. I've mentioned to a few people that it's a lot faster and heavier than [2008's 'Godspeed on the Devil's Thunder']. Well, to be honest, the new material has been taken up quite a few gears."
The band plans to recording the disc this month, with plans to release the LP this spring.
