Next week, The Casualties will be infecting record stores with Resistance, their ninth studio album. Forming in New York City back in 1990, the group would go on to become the undisputed kings of street punk. The Casualties also count a lot of metal folks within their corps of fans, bringing to mind Broken Bones and early D.R.I. in their relentless attack.

On Resistance, The Casualties enlisted the help of Zeuss, a producer known for his work with bands like Municipal Waste, Shadows Fall and Hatebreed. Bringing in Zeuss to oversee the sessions paid off in spades, with Resistance offering the most ferocious performances in The Casualties' discography.

Since he's an authority on the subject, Noisecreep asked Meggers for five current punk bands everyone should check out. Check out his list below!

Krum Bums
"The Krum Bums are a great mix of punk rock and metal. Lots of energy on stage. Theses dudes can party. They're from Austin, Texas."

Tenebrae
"Boston punk rock and hardcore with a touch of spookiness. The singer was the lead vocalist of The Unseen, who is another awesome band."

Star Fucking Hipsters
"Radical mix between crust, pop, ska, metal and more. And surprisingly, not only does it work, it is amazing. Fans of Leftover Crack will be psyched."

Punk Gang
[ed. These dudes are so punk we couldn't find a photo of them!]"Here's another great new band from Austin, Texas. Awesome name, badass logo -- done in the font of the '80s BMX classic movie, Rad -- and fast, tough-as-nails tunes."

OFF!
"Keith Morris' new band. So fucking good. They pick up where Circle Jerks left off. So tight, so energetic, and so fun live.

The Casualties will release Resistance on Sept. 25 via Season of Mist. Head over to this link for pre-order options.
