Earth Crisis Tour Dates With First Blood, Thick as Blood
Say what you will about Fall Out Boy, but those dudes don't flap their gums in vain about their hardcore roots. FOB's rhtyhm section, bassist/tabloid fodder Pete Wentz and drummer Andy Hurley cut their teeth in Racetraitor, and Hurley is taking his mad hardcore pride a step further.
He's not just paying lip service to his hardcore-ness. He's going to sit behind the kit and serve as the fill-in drummer on Earth Crisis' upcoming tour, temporarily replacing longtime drummer Dennis Merrick. Earth Crisis will close out the tour cycle for last year's 'To the Death' with the Wrath of Sanity Tour, which begins April 22. The tour's support acts are quite sanguine and plasmatic, with names like First Blood and Thick as Blood.
In a statement, Hurley said, "Earth Crisis is one of my favorite bands ever. They are the reason why I am vegan and straight edge. The origins of most of my philosophical/political beliefs come from them introducing me to a whole new way of thinking. When I was asked to fill in on the upcoming tour, I was beyond stoked. It felt like being called up to the major league, and I think that this will be the most fun I will have on a tour. Be sure to come check it out, because this is a band whose songs beat in my heart and who have never forgotten how to write brutally awesome songs."
