In 2009, the heavy metal community suffered a number of devastating losses. Current and former members of Evile, Sweet Cobra, 3 Inches of Blood, Cobra Clutch, Faith or Fear, StrydegoR, Space Eater, Maserati and Candiria were all taken from us too early in 2009. And unfortunately, the year hasn't expired yet.

The latest passing was that of Neil Farrington, the 38-year-old drummer for reunited British thrashers Cerebral Fix, who died on Dec. 20. Farrington was also a member of old school death metal act Warlord UK.

"It saddens me to bring the news that our most recent drummer (and my good friend) Neil Farrington has passed away," says a blog posting to the band's MySpace page. "A Facebook group has been set up by his girlfriend for people to leave any thoughts/comments or you could just leave them here."

A cause of death has yet to be determined. According to the memorial Facebook page, Farrington "had so many friends but felt so alone. You will never know how much or how many people will miss you." The debut album from Warlord UK, called 'Maximum Carnage,' was reissued back in July, and was originally issued in 1996 on Nuclear Blast Records.
