Behemoth

Following their successful run on this summer's Rockstar Mayhem Fest with the likes of Slayer, Black Dahlia Murder, Killswitch Engage and Job For a Cowboy, Polish blackened death metallers Behemoth will be returning to North America in early 2010 for another run of gigs both in the states and in Canada.

The tour kicks off Jan. 7 in Philadelphia, and so far, dates run through Jan. 30 in New York City. Support acts for the Evangelia Amerika Tour will be Greece's Septicflesh and Swedish metal act Shining. Other support acts will be hopping on and off the tour for various regional shows.

Tickets for the trek go on sale Nov. 20, with pre-sale tickets going on sale Nov. 19. Following the band's run on Mayhem this summer, Behemoth's most recent LP, 'Evangelion,' was certified gold in Poland with sales of more than 15,000 units. The album debuted at 56 on the Billboard Top 200, and spent three weeks at the top spot in Poland. The tour will be hitting Atlanta, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Chicago, Cleveland and Pittsburgh before winding down. Additional dates are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.

Behemoth frontman Nergal is currently starring in a series of commercials in his native Poland, with longtime girlfriend Dorota Rabczewska, a Polish pop star. Metalsucks has video of the commercials, which poke fun at Nergal's ominous metal persona.
