Winds of Plague Replace Keyboardist
That didn't last long! On Oct. 15, Winds of Plague revealed they had a new keyboardist in Lisa Marx, formerly of Kittie, Day of Contempt and Scars of Tomorrow. Marx would be taking over for Kristen Randall, the band's longtime keyboardist who split from the symphonic death metal act to pursue modeling and acting. But Marx is already out, little more than a month later.
According to rumors, Marx wasn't able to learn the band's material in time for their tour, which kicked off late last week with Stick to Your Guns, Circle of Contempt, Sleeping Giant and Oceano. The tour runs through Dec. 19 in Pomona, Calif. The band's newest member is keyboardist Alana Potocnik. She has already joined the band on tour.
Potocnik, formerly of the Breathing Process and most recently of Abigail Williams, is also a fledgling model. It is unclear whether she will be added as a full-time member of the fold. An official announcement on the matter hasn't been made yet.
After Marx joined the group, frontman Johnny Plague promised that the "stage setup" for the band's current tour "is going to feature a massive light show, larger than life backdrop, scrims and risers. We want to entertain the crowd and bring them a true show so they leave feeling like they got more than their money's worth. The package is solid from top to bottom and we can't wait to annihilate everywhere with some new, never before played material. This is going to be the definitive Winds of Plague show, so don't miss out."
