The Used, who performed this summer at the Vans Warped Tour, are spending next month on a headlining tour with William Control serving as the opening act. The trek begins with an Oct. 15 stop in Fresno, Calif.

The group have put a solid crop of songs the past couple of years, thanks to the 2012 release of 'Vulnerable,' which debuted at No. 8 on the Billboard Top 200 charts. This year, The Used issued 'The Ocean Of The Sky' EP, which peaked at the No. 10 slot at the Top Hard Rock Albums chart. Their politically-themed video for their song 'Iddy Biddy,' a tune that is featured on the EP, came out in July.

As for William Control, he will be touring with The Used with an understandably, heavy heart, as he talked about the recent loss of his father on his official website. During his post, the usually private Control also shared the last letter he penned to his father. As for the post's headline, it appropriately reads, "To my old man, I love you forever. RIP."

Tickets for the tour are on sale at www.theused.net. In a video which takes a look at the making of 'The Ocean of the Sky,' singer Bert McCracken talks about the band's thematic obsessions since their 2001 formation. "I think The Used has always tried to make music that kind of touches on humanity," said McCracken who said the EP was influenced by the writings of authors James Joyce and William S. Burroughs. "Human issues (of) death and life and birth, the cycle of life, oppression. And maybe challenges that we face and the way to deal with challenges and to overcome troubles and problems in life."
