Devil Wears Prada

The Devil Wears Prada have already conquered the screamo/metalcore scene over the past year. That's why the band chose New England metallers All That Remains as their co-headliner on the Napalm & Noise Tour, which is currently laying waste to venues across the U.S. through December. Story of the Year and Haste the Day are also on the bill. It's DWP's first headlining run since last Spring and the band is being smart about its touring choices.

"I think we wanted to reach out to some new fans just because we have been trying to do things heavier on our newest record," guitarist/vocalist Jeremy DePoyster told Noisecreep about why the band chose to partner with heavier bands for the tour. "If we keep doing the same tours, we're going to play to our kids over and over again. We wanted to bring in some new bodies that might not have checked out before. This tour is good for both bands!"

DePoyster doesn't think budding fashionistas will check out the band because they are guilty by association by sharing their name with a chick lit novel and a chick flick! "It turns people off more than on," DePoyster said with a chuckle. "But what are we going to do? The band name has nothing to do with the book or movie, and hindsight is 20/20 with our name!"

The Napalm & Noise Tour will wrap in December, and regarding the tour's explosive name, DePoyster said, "We have nuclear bomb 'things' on our backdrops, so it had something to do with that. I don't do any of that designing and stuff. They don't like my ideas, with 'they' being the rest of my guys. I had ideas for this winter wasteland tour that I wanted to do and some other stuff, but they don't like that idea, I guess. I'm not upset about it, though!"

DWP's 'With Roots Above and Branches Below' is out now via Ferret.
