Slipknot Manager Claims Chris Fehn Was a Hired Gun
Robert Shore, music manager who has worked with Slipknot, is claiming Chris Fehn was never a member in regards to the business dealings of Slipknot, instead working as a hired gun for the nine-piece band.
Fehn has accused Slipknot of withholding money from his touring fees and merch sales, demanding complete forensic accounting into Slipknot’s various companies.
A legal affidavit from Rob Shore & Associates Inc. (RSA) was obtained by Rock Feed, describing Fehn’s apparent role in Slipknot. Despite joining the band in 1998, just one year after Corey Taylor, the documents declare Fehn is not a “shareholder, owner or member” of the business entity known as Slipknot.
“Mr. Fehn performed with Slipknot and received a fee for doing so. He is not a shareholder, owner or member of any business entity he names as a defendant in this action,” the affidavit filed April 22 reads.
Shawn ‘Clown’ Crahan and Corey Taylor have been named as the controlling owners of Slipknot.
Last month, attorney Joseph Dunne, who represents Fehn, told the Des Moines Register, “[Fehn] thought everyone was being treated equally. My client really is just hoping to figure out a way to work this out with the people he's worked side by side with for the last 20 years."
Dunne also claims Fehn’s employment has not changed since his public dismissal from the group.
Slipknot’s only statement on the matter was released in March:
Slipknot’s focus is on making album #6, and our upcoming shows around the world, our best ever. Chris knows why he is no longer a part of Slipknot. We are disappointed that he chose to point fingers and manufacture claims, rather than doing what was necessary to continue to be a part of Slipknot. We would have preferred he not take the path that he has, but evolution in all things is a necessary part of this life.
Long Live The Knot.
