Motionless in White Vocalist Thrilled by Dee Snider’s Comments About Them
The 2011 Fearless Friends Tour kicked off in Los Angeles, Calif. at the Roxy Theatre last night. The tour includes Motionless in White, blessthefall, The Word Alive, Tonight Alive, and and Chunk! No, Captain Chunk!
Recently, Motionless in White worked with Twister Sister's Dee Snider, when he starred in the band's video for 'Immaculate Misconception,' which was directed by his son Cody. Snider was quoted as saying, "Meeting and working with Chris and the rest of MiW has made me realize just how much the saying, 'The more things change, the more they stay the same,' rings true. Bands like MiW deal with the same misjudgment and ignorance that Twisted Sister dealt with when we were first starting out."
Before opening the tour in Los Angeles, Motionless in White lead singer Chris Cerulli spoke exclusively with Noisecreep about what it was like to work with Snider.
"I'm not sure anyone can really grasp how much of a big deal that was. Twisted Sister, especially the song 'We're Not Gonna Take It,' it's one of the first songs I ever heard that showed a band that was willing to say f--- you to anyone that wouldn't agree with them. That's how I am today; that's my outlook on life. So to have a person that started that, agree with what we're doing now is mind-blowing. Working with him getting his endorsement like that - it almost makes me think that life isn't real. We're doing things now that carry the torch that he lit. That he's pumped about that is huge for us and makes us feel like we're doing something right," an excited Cerulli told us.
'Immaculate Conception' comes off 'Creatures,' Motionless in White's most recent album. As for what he thinks of the new video, Cerulli said, "I don't know what to say. I'm excited, but it's hard to believe we really did this. But I am very curious what fans think. It definitely gets across what I wanted to get across, but it's open for people to interpret the right and wrong ways. I'm kind of nervous people might take it in the wrong way. But either way, I'm really happy with how it turned out."
