Megadeth Explore Young Love Themes in ‘Super Collider’ Video
Megadeth's video for 'Super Collider,' the title track for their new album, traces a young love story. We know that's not exactly the subject matter that you'd expect or standard fare for a heavy metal video, but it's how things shake out. The group members all take passive roles in the clip, leaving the action to the two young actors.
The video follows a young couple attending Elysian Fields High School as they navigate their romance. The scene is set in a science lab, in the park, on the school grounds and at their reunion a decade later.
The relationship is all very innocent. Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine plays the girl's protective father, who stomps all over her BF's stuff, literally. Drummer Shawn Drover plays a janitor while guitarist Chris Broderick is a baseball player.
Will the pair, now a model and a mathematician, respectively, still be together 10 years later? Watch and find out. If you're cynical about love, this clip might help change that opinion.
