Lamb of God Release Lyric Video for ‘Erase This’
Lamb of God are serving up a new lyric video for "Erase This," the second track off VII: Storm und Drang. The video takes the avenue of presenting the lyrics, which has its benefits, especially with Lamb of God. Singer Randy Blythe is mostly intelligible in his delivery, but the emphasis on lyrics caters to the frontman's natural propensity of expressing himself and his thoughts.
The clips weave their way around an abandoned building littered with graffiti interspersed with digital shots of blood dripping and holes in the wall along with parts of the album cover for VII: Storm und Drang. The shots create a hopelessly dark vibe, which feeds into the lyrical content of the song.
Commenting on the track to Metal Hammer, guitarist Mark Morton said, "Lyrically, 'Erase This' deals with negative people and how they can drag you down without you even necessarily realizing it." He continued, "It's about people you may even be close to, but who are stuck in their own self-pity and woe-is-me, kind of victim status. That kind of energy can spread like a virus. Most of us as humans have been on both the giving and receiving end of that kind of attitude, but the older I get, the more I try to focus on not allowing that type of vibe to enter my mindset.”
Released on July 24, VII: Storm und Drang debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200. Lamb of God are currently co-headlining a tour with Megadeth in the U.K. and will be embarking on another co-headlining run in January of 2016 with Anthrax.
