Jon Bon Jovi’s Daughter Drug Arrest: Teen Will Not Be Prosecuted Over Heroin Overdose
There's a bit of good news for Jon Bon Jovi's daughter Stephanie Bongiovi after she allegedly overdosed on heroin in a college dorm room on Wednesday (Nov. 14.) She will not face criminal prosecution for her actions.
According to TMZ, a rep for the Oneida County D.A.'s office is dismissing criminal charges against the rocker's daughter, 19, along with the male student, 21, who was involved in her OD. The charges were dropped due to a New York law that prohibits the prosecution of people experiencing a drug overdose. It also prohibits the prosecution of those helping them seek medical care. So that's the silver lining to this black cloud.
Stephanie Bongiovi was arrested after receiving emergency medical treatment for an overdose that took place at a dorm on the Hamilton College campus. A drug task force found heroin in the room, albeit in small quantity, as well as other drug paraphernalia and pot.
The teen faced charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and criminally using drug paraphernalia. Her male friend was also charged.
