Huntress, ‘Spell Eater': Exclusive Album Cover Reveal
Coming straight of out of Southern California is a group dealing out such high-quality traditionally-flavored heavy metal that Noisecreep covered them when they didn't even have a record deal. Yes, Huntress are that great. We knew the secret would get out to the world one day, so it's no surprise that the folks at Napalm Records signed up Huntress to a shiny new record deal in late 2011.
Lead by a force of nature named Jill Janus, Huntress' upcoming debut album, 'Spell Eater,' will surely make it to the year-end lists come next December. Thundering drums, heavy riffs, spectral solos, and catchy choruses, are the basis of Huntress' sound, which is majestically crowned by Janus' powerhouse vocals.
'Spell Eater' won't hit North American stores till May 8, but in this Noisecreep exclusive, we bring you the premiere of the album's killer cover art!

Huntress vocalist Jill Janus gave Noisecreep her thoughts on the 'Spell Eater' album cover:
"The album cover captures the beauty and brutality of Huntress. Vance Kelly is a warlock and he took our vision and created a magical illustration that breathes glory into the old crone. We contemplated having either a sultry sorceress or decrepit forest witch as our cover babe, ultimately the crone won because she is the true Huntress.
"Within me, there's a nasty, horny old witch who runs the show. Beauty is fleeting, power and magic are eternal. My devotion to witchcraft and love of numerology inspired the imagery for the album cover. Vance was very patient with my odd requests. I want our fans to seek the secrets we have woven into 'Spell Eater' and the album art, for there are many strings binding these songs to my wet red heart."
