Noisecreep favorites Huntress are currently out with British guitar maniacs DragonForce bringing their brand of classic-flavored heavy metal to crowds throughout Europe. The California-based quintet is supporting Spell Eater, their kickass 2012 debut album. Besides possessing a powerhouse singing voice, Huntress frontwoman Jill Janus is also a gifted writer, so Noisecreep asked her to blog for us while the band tears through Europe. Here is her first entry:

Hey Noisecreepers,

Huntress is back on road once again, this time we join our pals Dragonforce on a European tour! It's been a whirlwind since signing to Napalm Records in November 2011. Our self-funded video for "Eight of Swords" locked down a record deal for Huntress, and since then we've recorded our debut album Spell Eater and have been touring nearly non-stop since March 2012. I had to learn the rules of the road fast or perish. I've spent a lot of time living in a van with four men and my chihuahua, sleeping in Walmart parking lots and peeing in plastic bottles. Giving up your feminine drama is the first step. Learning how to drive a 15 passenger van and trailer is the next step. I had to un-sex myself and become less emotional. It ain't easy when you're a she-demon on stage night after night; getting out of character is one helluva task. But I'm learning as we go, and being on a tour bus makes our life so much easier.

We flew to Amsterdam on October 7 via Turkish Airlines, which everyone in Huntress agrees is the best airline ever. Seriously, they rule. Each seat in economy has a killer TV with unlimited movies. I nailed down five on my way over. The food and service was surprisingly good. And international flights are free booze all the way. Plus it's the cheapest. Done.

We didn't get a sound check and the stage was massive in Tilburg, quite daunting for five jet-lagged stoners. But even on big production tours, you learn to expect the unexpected and simply bring it hard. We continued to slay Antwerp, Hannover, Cologne and Copenhagen. After our set at Amanger Bio, the boys went trolling for drugs in Copenhagen's Christiana. They say it was otherworldly. And they brought back a gift of magical Danish hash for me, which caused a giggle match between Blake and Carl in the back of the bus. Playing Scandinavia has been a dream for us. Land of delicious, slutty kabob sandwiches. Last night in Oslo, Norway was ultimate. Cold air, warm viking skin and black metal. I can die happy now.
