As the 21st century arrived, Mastodon led a new wave of sludge metal acts that began to emerge and in a very short time they've become one of the most respected acts in rock and metal. This Readers Poll asks you, the Mastodon fans, to let us know which of the band's albums is your favorite.

It all started for the killer four-piece with 2002's 'Remission' album, which yielded the rifftastic 'March of the Fire Ants,' the furious rocker 'Crusher Destroyer' and such standouts as 'Mother Puncher' and 'Where Strides the Behemoth.' In 2004, they returned with 'Leviathan,' a disc that really began to grow their audience. 'Aqua Dementia,' 'Megalodon' and 'Blood and Thunder' really took hold for the band.

Keeping pace, the band kept the momentum going with 2006's 'Blood Mountain,' their first disc for Warner Bros. The album yielded the popular 'Colony of Birchmen,' as well as 'Sleeping Giant,' 'The Wolf Is Loose' and 'Capillarian Crest.' In 2009, the band issued perhaps their most commercially successful disc with 'Crack the Skye.' The heavy yet poignant disc included such standouts as 'Oblivion' and 'Divinations,' as well as the four-part track 'The Czar.' And in 2011, the group offered more of a straight-up rock record with 'The Hunter,' which generated the hit 'Curl of the Burl' as well as 'Black Tongue,' 'Dry Bone Valley' and 'Blasteroid' among others.

That's five amazing albums from Mastodon that rocked us to the core. Now it's your turn to tell us which of these discs is your favorite. Vote for your choice in the Readers Poll below.
