Emmure Release New Song 'Torch,' Plot Early 2017 Album

Emmure confirmed their new lineup in April earlier this year after Frankie Palmeri was left as the sole member following a mass exodus from his bandmates. Fans were left speculating what this would mean for the band and they now have an answer by way of the new track "Torch."

Opening up with a delicate plucking of clean-toned notes, the heaviness fades in and Palmeri gets the spotlight, spewing bravado through clenched teeth. The familiar heart-stopping breakdowns come in, but with a bit of a fresh take, utilizing those early clean elements to further invoke the trance state.

Despite its brevity (just two-and-a-half minutes), "Torch" gives a solid indication of where Emmure are going with this new lineup, now consisting of Josh Travis (ex-Glass Cloud, ex-Tony Danza Tap Dance Extravaganza) on guitar, Josh Miller (ex-Glass Cloud) behind the kit and Phil Lockett (ex-Tony Danza Tap Dance Extravaganza) playing bass.

Emmure's seventh studio album, which is yet to be titled with an aim for an early 2017 release, will be issued through Nuclear Blast and SharpTone Records. The group will also be on tour soon with Attila, Chelsea Grin and Skylar. Dates are listed below.
