Edge of Paradise might be a new band, but when your debut album includes the rhythm section of bassist Tony Franklin (Blue Murder, The Firm) and drummer Gregg Bissonette (David Lee Roth band), you know you're already in great shape. Now add the powerhouse vocals of Margarita Monet and Dave Bates' towering guitars and you have yourself a record essential to any fan of melodic metal.

Formed by Monet and Bates earlier this year, Edge of Paradise recently released 'Mask,' an album chockfull of industrial-tinged metal coupled with soaring vocal hooks. In an interesting tidbit of information for all of our hard rock and AOR loving readers, Bates collaborated with former McAuley Schenker Group and current Survivor vocalist Robin McAuley on some of the record's material.

"This song is particularly close to us, due to the passing of our prior drummer. It deals with a subject we all wrestle with in our lives. Behind each of our facades we all live on the edge and struggle with it daily," Monet told Noisecreep about 'Mask.'

Since recording 'Mask,' Edge of Paradise have welcomed the additions of Kevin Katich on drums and Steven Cook on bass, into their lineup. The California-based combo has begun playing locally and our eyeing touring opportunities for 2012.
