Most cover bands would only dream of having Dave Grohl and Nikki Sixx join them onstage, but then again Chevy Metal aren't your average cover band.

The group does have a little higher profile that most cover bands as Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins and guitarist Chris Shiflett are among its members. So being able to pull in Dave Grohl for a guest spot wasn't too much of a stretch. Grohl joined the band during a set at the Costa Mesa Fairgrounds in Costa Mesa, Calif. Saturday night (June 29), where he chimed in on a cover of the Queen and David Bowie classic, 'Under Pressure.'

Grohl, embracing the fun nature of the set, told the crowd, "I don't get to play with Chevy Metal all the time. It's the one band in the world I wish I could be in, but the f---in' drummer is the boss. What can I do?" Video footage of the performance can be seen above.

While seeing Grohl with Chevy Metal would have been cool enough, the band also used their pull to draw in Motley Crue great Nikki Sixx at a recent show as well. The bassist sat in during a performance at the Malibu Inn in Malibu, Calif. on June 22, providing some extra substance to the band's performances of 'Looks That Kill' and 'Live Wire.' Footage from the show can be seen below.

All involved are currently enjoying a little downtime in their schedule though word has it that both the Foo Fighters and Sixx's other band Sixx: A.M. are working on new albums.
