Bring Me the Horizon, August Burns Red Headline Alternative Press Tour
Alternative Press is the Bible for the youth culture that follows the Warped Tour scene dominated by bands like My Chemical Romance and Fall Out Boy, but don't forget that the publication does cover our beloved metal, too. The mag is sponsoring their second annual fall tour, which boasts Bring Me the Horizon and August Burns Red as the co-headliners. The lineup was actually picked by the magazine's staffers, so we're glad they have good metallic taste. The tour is poised to break the previous edition's attendance and is booked in larger venues.
The AP tour roster is rounded out by Emarosa, Polar Bear Club and This Is Hell, so it will certainly feel like thunder is roaring from the stage when this tour hits your unsuspecting city.
"We're excited to present an entirely new side of the AP tour," AP marketing director Dawn Marshman said in an official statement on the matter. "It's great that we've found a platform to showcase heavier genres we cover consistently in the magazine that might get overlooked otherwise. This tour is going to be amazing!"
Purchasing a ticket doesn't merely allow you entry into the venue to see the show. Your ticket is like a key unlocking lots of prizes. In this economy, the price of admission is rarely gets you more than the admission itself, but with this event, AP is changing the rules. Each ticket purchased includes a one-year subscription to AP for the purchaser or a friend.
Additionally, each band will design their own T-shirt through Indie Merch to be sold during the tour, which translates to limited-edition and rare gear. Free posters of all five bands will be available in limited quantities at each stop as well, and attendees can have them signed at AP's nightly, free meet and greets. Get there early to get your poster, as they're probably not going to last.
Rounding out the haul is an exclusive offer for pre-sale purchasers only: Fans will receive both newsstand covers of the AP tour fall issue along with the subscriber-only version for an additional $9.99 along with the purchase of a pre-sale tickets.
