Alter Bridge have been holed away for the past few months working out the music for their next disc and they've emerged to reveal that their forthcoming disc will be titled 'Fortress.' The band's fourth release overall is due in stores Oct. 8.

It's been three years since 'ABIII,' but by no means have the band members been taking it easy. Frontman Myles Kennedy has been fronting Slash's band, guitarist Mark Tremonti issued his first solo album and put together a top notch group to back him and Tremonti joined with the other members to tour as Creed since the last Alter Bridge record.

For 'Fortress,' the group reunited with producing pal Michael "Elvis" Baskett and it didn't take long for things to fall back into form and even exceed past efforts. "When we started pre-production on this album, we pushed ourselves harder and further than we ever have previously in order to make the most out of every individual arrangement. We wanted this album to be our most unpredictable and exciting one yet," says Tremonti. "From the early feedback we have received, it looks like we have achieved what we set out to do."

The band provides a wide array of music on the disc, ranging from the acoustic guitar opening of 'Cry of Achilles' to heavy hitters like 'Bleed It Dry' and 'Father Than the Sun.' Other key tracks on the album include the softer cut 'All Ends Well' as well as the epic title track, which closes the album.

Alter Bridge will begin their support of the album with their only U.S. date of the year -- Oct. 4 at Orlando's House of Blues. After that, the group will pack for the UK and Europe, with shows booked from Oct. 16 through Nov. 16. See their full itinerary below.
