5 Best Places to Party in Michigan As Picked by Wilson

Wilson is a hard rock band from Michigan. There are two things you should know about them right off the bat: 1. They kick all kinds of ass (on tape and in person) 2. They take their partying very seriously.

Yep, these dudes do serious liver damage at home, and on the road. But it isn't all partying, all the time for Wilson. The quintet has already sold out of their debut EP and will be releasing an album produced by Steve Evetts (Dillinger Escape Plan, Every Time I Die) later this year.

Starting on April 10 in Tucson, Ariz., Wilson will join the almighty GWAR and Warbeast on a U.S. tour and in honor of the trek, we've asked the group to give us a list of 5 spots everyone should check out when they're in Michigan and want to get their drink on.

The Loving Touch - 22634 Woodward Ave, Ferndale, Mich.

This is your quintessential neighborhood bar! The area is filled with your Detroit musicians, artists and the staple drunkards. On any given night you can find these beings flailing around each other trying to catch the skinny on their cohorts naughty bits. They have a handful of pool tables and bitchin' Jukebox. This is the place you start the night and end the night. This is the place you always rely on. This is the place you call "home".



Hamilton St. Pub - 308 S Hamilton St, Saginaw, Mich.

Ok, if you want to REALLLLY black the funk out, this is the place and town to do it. From the moment you walk though their quint little front door you will get the feeling that someone here is going to put you on your back and give you the dirtiest moonshine rubdown your bastard face has ever taken. The drinks are cheap, the chicks are...well chicks and the doods are ready to bare down and drink you to the ground...I've literally watched every member of our band ralph chunks on the drive home from this place...some of our girlfriends too!

Peanut Barrel - 521 E Grand River Ave, East Lansing, Mich.

Ah, the ol' college hooch tosser. This place is located in the heart of East Lansing's college campus of Michigan State. This place holds a few special nights in our mugs. Members of Wilson past and present attended this college, and when we were first starting the band we would often meet here for after show/practice drinks. Home of the $5 Long Island..so strong I once saw a 6'3'' 250 lb man instantly projectile vomit on the face of this college freshman chick after he finished his glass. It was well, hot I guess. This is where the locals meet and the "visitors" learn to drink.

The Bronx Bar - 4476 2nd Ave, Detroit, Mich.

Known as "Detroit's Cheers", just WAY darker and smokier. It's located in the historic "Cass Corridor". It's always filled with the up and coming Detroit "talk abouts" and Wayne State students. The ambiance of this place will kinda freak you out if it's your first time plopping down one their dirty bar stools. It is very, very dim lit. The perfect place to take a chick you A. don't want your friends to recognize, or B. you don't plan on recognizing her yourself. And they hold one of Detroit's finest beer servers, Phreddy. Ask for him if you go in there! The servers there WILL turn your night upside down...oh, and excrement your bowels before coming here...

The Crofoot Complex - 1 S Saginaw St, Pontiac, Mich.

This is our venue. This place has seen more Wilson parties than any other Detroit venue. They know our dirty little insides, because, well they've seen them tossed around the corners of their rooms.The entire staff is welcoming and ready to make you feel like you are at home watching a Motorhead concerton DVD in your stained yellow briefs chugging a bottle of Jameson. Almost the entire male staff is sporting some serious facial hair. We've partied here with our friends more times than we count extremities...even if you count our genitals. Some of us have even slept here over night. Some of us have even made coitus inside the bowels of this place. This is our mothership.
