Roadrunner Records Readies ‘XXX: Three Decades of Roadrunner Records’ Box Set

Roadrunner Records is turning 33 this year. The label, which has gone through some significant changes in the past year, is not afraid to show its age. And if we looked that good at the big 3-3, and boasted that deep of a history, well, we'd be showing off, too!

The label has curated one whopper of a box set celebrating its history. Fans of Roadrunner will recall that it celebrated its 25th anniversary with the inimitable (and impossible to repeat) Roadrunner United disc, which featured artists from the label's long and rich history writing and performing together. Now, it's looking back at the whole and collecting the classics.

The box set will be released Oct. 1, boasting a whopping 54 tracks across the space of four discs. It's super affordable at $39.98, too.

The first disc, 'Foundations,' highlights the formative years, including tracks by Mercyful Fate, Carnivore, Deicide, Brujeria, Suffocation, Biohazard, Type O Negative and more.

Disc 2 is 'Horns Up' and it covers the '90s, boasting material from Slipknot, Machine Head, Sepultura, Coal Chamber, Fear Factory, and many others.

The third disc, 'And Metal for All,' captures the Roadrunner essence of the 2000s through the present, focusing on Killswitch Engage, Trivium, Dream Theater, Opeth, Gojira and more.

Disc 4, 'Rock for the Ages,' centers on the rock acts that have populated the formidable roster over the years. Rush, Nickelback, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Theory of a Deadman, Airbourne, Black Stone Cherry and Korn among others are included.
