Metallica's most formative years were from 1982 through 1984, so it makes sense that a photo exhibit dubbed 'Fade to Black: Metallica by Bill Hale' which opens Feb. 3 in London will focus on that particular era. The 30th anniversary exhibition hones in on the mighty M's early years, including shots of long-ago former members Dave Mustaine and Ron McGovney. There are even photos from the first shows of both late bassist Cliff Burton and guitarist Kirk Hammett and much, much more.

The photo fest runs through April 3 at Proud Camden, so if you hop across the pond between now and then, be sure to carve some time into your schedule to check it out.
