Axeman Zakk Wylde can add author to his impressive résumé. Wylde will release 'Bringing Metal to the Children' through HarperCollins' William Morrow imprint this May. In the tome, Wylde invites all who dare onto the tour bus for tales of glory, debauchery and all things metal. Despite it's title, this book is for the men -- not the boys.

The Black Label Society frontman will take fans on a guided tour of what happens behind those fogged-up, tinted tour bus windows and the roped-off backstage area where fans can't see. Wylde will discuss his survival techniques for maintaining a life on the road, managing a band of raging Vikings and somehow making it onstage and blowing the crowd away night after night. If anyone can survive the brutality of life on the road, it's Zakk Wylde.

Beginning with Wylde's "true rocker test," the book is interactive and allows the reader to answer and score 10 questions to determine if he is a true rocker and should continue reading -- or if he's just a complete tool who needs to hand the book to someone more metal. Wylde continues the journey with his epic stories about life on the road, using his Black Label Society coaching techniques to instruct the reader on proper touring hygiene, pre-concert preparations and post-show etiquette.

Wylde will tell lots of tales of life on road and wild nights he shared with icons and legends like Rob Zombie, Eddie Van Halen, Dimebag Darrell, Alice In Chain's Mike Inez, Skid Row's Snake Sabo, Metallica's Lars Ulrich, professional wrestlers Chris Jericho, Bubba Dudley and Stone Cold Steve Austin, UFC Former Light Heavyweight Champion Forrest Griffin and of course the godfather of heavy metal who was his longtime mentor and partner, Ozzy Osbourne.

'Bringing Metal to the Children' also has educational value and is an instructional tool. It will feature Wylde's personal road map to the music business, with tips on tour planning and advice for aspiring metal musicians. Wylde even tells you how to survive a mosh put and how to set up your shooting range on the bus.

The only logical conclusion to draw about this guitar god is that he is Zakk Wylde, renaissance man.

Noisecreep will exclusively premiere an excerpt chapter from the book around release date, so watch this space for tips and techniques from the one and only Zakk Wylde.
