American doom legends Yob are currently stranded in the Netherlands and are making the best of a terrible situation by playing a handful of very special shows around Western Europe. The volcanic eruption of Eyjafjallajokull in Iceland this past Wednesday has thrown Europe into chaos, as a plume of volcanic ash caused airspace over much of Northern Europe and the U.K. to be closed and led to the cancellations of thousands of flights -- including the one that was due to take Yob back home to Oregon (as well as this writer's flight back to the East Coast).

After spending several days in Amsterdam, trying literally everything they could think of to get home, Yob and their booking agent, Nathan Carson of Nanotear, rallied their flagging spirits and called up a few friends across the border.

On April 21, Yob will be joining New Orleans sludge merchants Eyehategod, Southern slow-motion destroyers Kylesa and Dark Castle, and skronky San Francisco exports Totimoshi at Substage in Karlsrhue, Germany. On April 22, they will be headlining a show in Antwerp, Belgium with the Master Musicians of Bukkake and Wooden Shjips at Trix.

The band may add a few more shows, depending on when they're able to book flights home, but nothing is confirmed yet. Keep your eyes peeled and fingers crossed for Yob and everyone else who's been left stranded!
