The Contortionist have just announced the Aug. 9 release of their forthcoming EP, Our Bones. Hear the new song "Early Grave" below.

It's the first dose of new music from the progressive outfit since releasing Clairvoyant in 2017, blending post-rock elements into a sludgy and progressive metallic foundation.

The material from the EP was culled from ideas guitarist Robby Baca was experimenting with during soundchecks on the road.

"Once I was finally able to get Robby to record that riff we started piecing together the song in the back of the van, while on tour in Europe," recalled singer Michael Lessard.

"We try to do something different with everything we create," the frontman said of the EP. "With our albums, we tend to work with overarching interconnected themes. Our Bones is a departure. It offered an opportunity to dive into some things we haven’t had a chance to explore, and the shorter EP format allowed us to be hyper-focused on each song."

Our Bones will be released through Entertainment One / Good Fight Music. Pre-order your copy here.
