Ted Nugent Criticizes State of the Union Address, Calls President a Fraud
In a move that should shock no one that follows rock and politics, conservative big mouth Ted Nugent blasted President Barack Obama's State of the Union address last night (Feb. 12). The Nuge picked apart the content of the speech, expressing little hope that Obama will do what he said.
After Barry O. delivered his speech to the country, Nugent got on the horn with Talk Radio News Service to express his dissenting opinion.
First, he accused the president of paying lip service and of repeating himself.
"I've heard it all before," Uncle Ted, a gun enthusiast and Second Amendment proponent, declared with disgust. "Actions speak louder than words. I mean, who's buying that he's gonna bring about world peace, save the children, stop global warming and bring about fairness. God, I'm relieved. Aren't you relieved? I feel so much better now that we know those important issues are being addressed."
The Motor City Madman continued, "You've gotta be kidding me. He's said it all before and either nothing happened or just the opposite happened."
Nugent, a self-described proud American, further commented, "I'm afraid... and it pains me to say this, because I revere the American experience and I revere the system of we the people voting in our representatives based on their guidelines for the ultimate quality of life in the history of the world, the U.S. Constitution Bill Of Rights. Painfully, this president does not represent that."
He essentially called Obama a fraud, saying, "Somehow he has bamboozled the people, enough people, to vote for him that he's actually gonna do what he says. And let's just identify it. So he's for all of the above energy independent procedures, he's all for all of the above? Then why hasn't he done any of the above? I just don't believe him. I'm heartbroken that the scam rambles on. So no, I'm not happy. I mean, I'm happy in spite of the speech."
Nugent has been repeatedly vocal about his disdain for the commander-in-chief. He came under fire –and a Secret Service investigation- last April after he claimed he would be dead or in jail if the president was re-elected. The Service takes such comments seriously, and Nugent was investigated.
