Taproot announced recently that Dave Coughlin will be replacing Nick Fredell as the band's drummer. The announcement came just as the band revealed more U.S. tour dates for the end of this summer. Taproot has already posted pictures of new drummer Coughlin posing with fans (seen above) on the band's Facebook page.

Fredell left Taproot in June of this year, announcing his exit via a vague Twitter posting. The drummer had joined the band shortly after the band's 2008 release, 'Our Long Road Home,' taking over behind the kit for longtime drummer Jarrod Montague. He appeared on the band's 2010 effort, 'Plead the Fifth,' and last year's album, 'The Episodes.'

Fan response to Coughlin’s performance with the band has been positive, according to posts made on Taproot's Facebook page.

Taproot are currently touring throughout the U.S. They have mentioned plans to release their next studio album, and presumably the first album featuring Coughlin on the drums, early next year.
