After a summer filled with Chester Bennington singing vocals for Stone Temple Pilots on the track 'Out of Time,' there will be more music from the outfit this fall. Both Bennington and the band members have been teasing an EP and that disc now has a title and release date.

'High Rise' is due on Oct. 8 and it should be noted that the effort is credited to "Stone Temple Pilots with Chester Bennington." The artwork for the new EP can be seen at the left. Five tracks in total will appear on the new collection, including the current single 'Out of Time' along with the track 'Tomorrow.'

Guitarist Dean DeLeo recently spoke with ArtistDirect.com about the creation of the EP, which came together quickly due to everyone's schedules. He explained, "We just finished up the EP. I really do wish we were able to have the time to contribute an LP. For those kids out there, LP means 'Long Play.' [Laughs] With everybody's schedules and Chester having a huge responsibility with Linkin Park, we finished tracking everything on this one night."

DeLeo says that it literally went down to the wire with Bennington putting the final touches on before he had to leave to head to Asia with Linkin Park. Once Bennington returns from tour, there's less than a week until Stone Temple Pilots begin their fall North American trek with Bennington. Though everything came together quickly, the guitarist admitted that one of the new songs was created "musically, lyrically and melodically" by Bennington, and that the singer was keen on contributing as much as possible despite the limited time span to work on new songs.

Bennington was announced as Stone Temple Pilots new frontman earlier this year after the band severed ties with Scott Weiland. However, Weiland remains embroiled in a lawsuit with the other STP members over the usage of the name and band material. For more on the most recent details in the case, click the button below.
