Just a few days ago, Oprah Winfrey's 'Oprah's Next Chapter', the signature new show on her OWN network, premiered with Steven Tyler as the focus for the two hour show. The intimate interview was broken down into several parts and Tyler spoke candidly about his past relationships, his children, his career with Aerosmith and his drug addiction.

The theme of drug abuse is woven throughout the interview, with Steven coming back to the topic on several occasions. These days, he admits his shame in being a drug addict, but is proud of his sobriety. He even admitted to having two AA sponsors: one in Los Angeles and one in Boston. Even with this bi-coastal support, Tyler says all drugs are not bad, but all use must be controlled.

When speaking of controlled drug use, Tyler recounts his recent foot surgery. He blames 40 years of dancing and banging his feet on stage for his current problems which Tyler refers to as "not having toes." He also recalls his 2009 stage fall during Aerosmith's performance at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in South Dakota. That fall left Tyler with neck and shoulder injuries and effectively canceled the remainder of Aerosmith's tour dates. While discussing the fall with Oprah, Tyler admitted the agony of fighting addiction to painkillers and having to return to rehab. He also discussed feeling hurt that none of the guys in Aerosmith visited him in the hospital after his fall.

Steven's daughter Mia Tyler and fiancée Erin Brady also participated in the interview.
