When Axl Rose refused to join his old Guns N' Roses bandmates at the recent Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony, he didn't just disappoint fans hoping for a reunion. He effectively wrote himself out of Steven Adler's life.

Speaking recently with Rolling Stone, the drummer said he's "done with" the redheaded singer, who he's "never mentioning" or "talking about" again. He's also finished hoping the classic Appetite for Destruction-era fivesome will ever get back onstage.

"I have no desire to know him or work with him or do anything with him again," said Adler. "Letting go of that was like a huge weight was lifted off my body. I feel fucking free. Yay!"

According to Adler, Rose's letter explaining his boycott of the Rock Hall showed his "disrespect" for fans.

"Basically, he told everybody in the world, 'Fuck you, I don't give a shit what you think,'" Adler said.

For his part, the clean and sober percussionist is looking to do something positive for the world. He's got a new band called Adler, and this year, they'll tour and release their debut album.

"Every 15, 20, 25 years, a new rock and roll record needs to come out and a new rock and roll band needs to come out," Adler said. "We're just the guys to fucking do it, and we're going to do it."
