It has been in the works for years and now it is almost ready. For documentary director Regina Russell, her long-form production on hard rock legends Quiet Riot has been a labor of love in more ways than one.

First, she loves the music. Secondly, she loves the drummer, Frankie Banali. You see, Banali is Russell's fiancé and so when she decided to produce the definitive Quiet Riot documentary, she had the ability to go straight to the source.

But just because you know somebody well doesn't mean they would be a cooperative subject. As Russell described to us recently at the 2013 NAMM show, there were more than enough challenges in producing her film. Interestingly, Banali also took part in our interview so we got his side of the story, too.

You could probably make a documentary about the making of her documentary, but for now Russell is focused on putting the finishing touches on a very special presentation that brings to life this legendary band.
