Queens of the Stone Age and Eagles of Death Metal will play a benefit show on August 12 at the Club Nokia in Los Angeles in order to raise funds for EODM bassist Brian O'Connor, who was recently diagnosed with cancer and who is currently receiving treatment for the disease in Los Angeles. The net proceeds from the show will be contributed to a fund which has been established in conjunction with Sweet Relief Musicians Fund, to assist with Brian's medical aid and vital living expenses.

It's no secret that musicians struggle with medical costs since most don't have and can't afford insurance, since being a rock star is not a typical, 9-to-5 gig, so this gig will certainly help the bassist offset his mounting costs of care. When a brother falls, you pick him up, and that is exactly what O'Connor's EODM bandmates are doing in his time of need.

Tickets on Sale to the Public July 16 at 10 AM.

This is the second show that QOTSA/EODM main man Josh Homme has organized to help his friend; the first gig with Them Crooked Vultures took place in July at London's O2 Academy.
