Horror fiend Phil Anselmo and his Housecore Records, along with crime author Corey Mitchell, will host the first-ever Housecore Horror Film Festival at Emo's in Austin, Texas from Oct. 25 through Oct. 27. The fest will combine extreme horror films and even more extreme heavy metal, with at least a dozen performances and 70 screenings of films that will have you looking under your bed at night and over your shoulder whenever the lights go down in public. Brazilian cult horror actor and director Coffin Joe is set to appear, while Eyehategod and Warbeast will perform. Find out more details about the event and the pricing here.

All That Remains are participating in Record Store Day. The band will issue a limited edition vinyl version of The Fall of Ideals on April 20. This is the first time the record will be made available on wax. The album, initially released in 2006, was produced by Adam Dutkiewicz (Killswitch Engage, Underoath) and features 11 songs including the hits "This Calling," "The Air I Breathe," "Six," and "Not Alone." The vinyl in pressed in blue/black swirl coloring. See which record stores are participating in RSD here.

Baroness will hit the road on a North American tour this May. After last year's van accident, which saw the band plunge 30 feet off a viaduct and sidelined it for several months, Baroness are ready to hit the road again.

"It's hard to find the words to express how excited we are to announce this tour," explained guitar player Pete Adams. "Seven months ago, who knew when it would be or even if we could get back on the road. But here we are, picking right back up where we left off. A heartfelt thanks to everyone's unconditional love and support for us through, let's hope, the hardest time this band will ever see. We told you we'd be back so let's do this thing!"

With drummer Allen Blickle and bassist Matt Maggioni no longer touring with the band, Sebastian Thomson (drums) and Nick Jost (bass) have stepped in to fill those roles.

Skid Row sans Sebastian Bach will release the United World Rebellion -- Chapter One EP, their first new material in seven years, on April 16. The lineup features Snake Sabo (guitars), Rachel Bolan (bass), Scotti Hill (guitars), Johnny Solinger (vocals) and Rob Hammersmith (drums). This is the first in a series of EPs that the band plans to release in the near future.

"United World Rebellion - Chapter One reignites the youthful energy and blistering sound that Skid Row is recognized for around the world. "That sound and energy is what resonates with people and knocks them on their ass," said Hammersmith. "We had a lot of great ideas to work with, so we're all really excited about this new music."
