Motorhead Miss Third Date Due to Phil Campbell Hospitalization [Update]
Update: Motorhead have issued a statement on Phil Campbell's health. It reads as follows: We just wanted to say a hearty THANK YOU to ALL our loyal Motörheadbanging fans for their support, understanding and community right now. It has obviously not been an easy time and with Phil recovering well, we are all doing everything we can to keep roaring right now. Your understanding and support is golden and very much appreciated. Again, THANK YOU!
Motorhead will miss out on their third straight date after guitarist Phil Campbell was hospitalized late last week for an unspecified ailment. However, there appears to be some positive news on the horizon as the band is expected to be back onstage for their next show Tuesday night.
According to Billboard, the band has officially axed their show tonight (Nov. 30) in Aarhus, Denmark at the AAC venue. This follows on the heels of missed performances in Hamburg and Berlin, Germany. The Hamburg show at Sporthalle on Nov. 28 has since been rescheduled for a Dec. 9 date, while no new date was given for the Berlin show.
The band will next perform at Gothenburg, Sweden's Scandinavium on Dec. 1 and the group is reportedly expecting to make the show.
Motorhead have been touring in support of their Bad Magic album, but their current European trek has met with some difficulties. On top of the schedule maneuvering due to Campbell's health, the band also had to miss out on a performance in France in the aftermath of the Paris terrorist attacks. The band still has dates booked into early December, followed by another European run in late January and February. See all of their scheduled dates here.
