Korn Get Futuristic in New Song ‘Can You Hear Me’
Korn have debuted the new song “Can You Hear Me” from their upcoming album The Nothing. The cybernetic cut is a heavy mix of metal and futurism, like much of Korn’s 2010s discography.
“Can You Hear Me” is the third single from The Nothing, following the catchy “You’ll Never Find Me” and the brutally heavy “Cold.” Korn’s newest song indulges the more modern edge of Jonathan Davis, who’s explored EDM throughout the decade, both with Korn and as a solo artist.
"It sucked. I'm not gonna say it didn’t,” Davis told Kerrang about making The Nothing after the death of his wife. “It was just really hard. But that's how I've always dealt with all my problems — just throwing my heart and soul into my art … I worked really hard on it. The rest of the members worked hard and really did a great job. It's a very dark record."
"It's basically me dealing with all the stuff that happened to me last year,” Davis shares about the death of his estranged wife. “Very emotional for me, but it is what it is. I can't wait for people to hear it. I really spent a long time on doing what I wanted to do this time."
Korn, "Can You Hear Me?"
Korn have also announced a new podcast series also called The Nothing. Korn's endeavor "tells the story of journalist Matt Singer who travels to the small town of Wellden, Kansas to investigate the mysterious disappearance of a teenage girl. He soon discovers not everything is as it seems in the rural community, and finds himself heading into his own heart of darkness."
The Nothing will be released Sept. 13 via Roadrunner. Grab your Korn concert tickets here.
