On May 15, For Sleeping or Jumping will release 'Dead Languages,' the follow up to their 2010 eponymous debut and 2011's 'Part 2.'

For the new record, the Boston-based self-described "math metal" technicians hooked up with Dillinger Escape Plan guitarist Ben Weinman, who provided synths and drum programming to the sessions. Ryan Siegel, best known for his work with Glassjaw, came in as the official producer of the EP.

Noisecreep asked Weinman why he hooked up with the group: "For Sleeping or Jumping couldn't be a better band name at a better time in music. I have known these guys for a few years now and it was great working with a band who have truly captured the inspiration and attitude of so many of the bands I came up with over the years."

In this Noisecreep exclusive, we bring you the premiere of 'Beardrops,' a track off For Sleeping or Jumping's 'Dead Languages' EP.

Listen to 'Beardrops' From For Sleeping or Jumping

For Sleeping or Jumping drummer Taylor Pile gave Noisecreep the skinny on 'Beardrops':

"The song 'Beardrops' required all of us to meditate on a common subject. When I was out and about in Boston, I heard an Australian myth about koala bears actively attacking tourists by literally dropping in on them unexpectedly from the trees above. This is, of course, a myth, used by local Australians to scare "noobs" from fully appreciating their beautiful country.

"I passed along this information to our vocalist Gio [Coviello] and the result is a semi-serious tale of being knocked out cold and waking up to the infamous "dropbears" that the locals use to spark discomfort in first time visitors. The bears, as it is suggested, are unsympathetic and brutally careless about the inevitable damage they cause.

"Our guitarist, Tom [Cawley] decided on fittingly bombastic riffs that happened to fit Gio's lyrics perfectly. Melodic in the right places and abrasive in others, the band as a whole happened upon a sound that, although touched upon by others, fit exactly what we were going for stylistically."

For Sleeping or Jumping's 'Dead Languages' EP will be out on May 15 via Auxiliary Records.
