Corey Taylor to Axl Rose: ‘Stop Being a Douchebag’
Corey Taylor has been making his thoughts known on various pop culture and current events topics as he promotes his new book, You're Making Me Hate You. The Slipknot / Stone Sour frontman has revealed he's not a fan of Kanye West’s ego, the current culture of viral videos and government buildings that fly the Confederate flag. And now we know he has a beef with Guns N’ Roses frontman Axl Rose, as well.
During his appearance on Opie Radio, a caller yelled at Taylor for an alleged incident where the Slipknot singer put his testicles on Rose’s piano at a festival both bands' were playing. The call-in fan of Rose asked how Taylor could do something like that to which Taylor replied, “Knowing Axl, it’s quite easy.” The singer continued, “I mean, anybody who makes his fans wait for two to three hours for him to go onstage, I have no respect for.” You can watch the NSFW interaction above, which includes a lot of cursing from the show's hosts.
When the caller challenges Taylor saying he is just jealous and wishes he “could be Axl Rose,” Taylor says he loves GN’R’s music. He then continues, “But when you make your fans wait that long — and I don’t give a f--k what hard-on [the caller] just said, ‘Oh, we expect it’ — well, you’re a f--king idiot then. All right? Figure it the f--k out. You know why there are really no original f--king members of Guns N’ Roses left? Because he made them wait three f--king hours! You want an Appetite reunion? Tell him to f--king stop being a douchebag.”
This year, Steven Adler and Slash have both made fairly positive comments about their interest in reuniting the classic Guns N’ Roses lineup. Adler has said that he thinks they owe it to the fans. And Slash, who’s longstanding feud with Rose has been cited as the main reason for preventing to group from reuniting, has commented “never say never” to it happening.
As stated, Corey Taylor is currently promoting his new book You’re Making Me Hate You, which hit shelves on July 7 via Da Capo Press. The singer not only takes on the music industry in the tome, but also things like rude behavior, air travel and clueless drivers. Pick it up here.
